Betty Ann Smotherman, 81, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in San Angelo. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Betty Ann was born July 6, 1933 in South Hampton, NY to Harry O. Bagley and Katherine McMahon Bagley. She grew up in New York and after graduating from high school met and later married her husband Nat Smotherman. They lived and traveled extensively all over the world during Nat's career in The United States Air Force and after retirement, settled in San Angelo. Betty Ann then attended Angelo State University and graduated with a degree in Nursing. She had a tremendous love and passion for caring for other people so she dedicated the next 40 years of her life at San Angelo Community Hospital, the San Angelo State School and reluctantly retired from Rivercrest in 2012, for her own health reasons. When Betty Ann was not caring for others, she became a very talented Cross Stitch expert and enjoyed making many things with her craft. In her spare time, she also loved traveling with her friends to places like Vegas, Reno and New Orleans. Betty Ann was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Nat and one Brother. Betty Ann is survived by her loving Children, Sherry Smotherman, of League City, TX., Steve Smotherman and his wife Sara, of League City, TX., Bobby Smotherman and his wife Rebecca, of Dallas, TX., her Grandchildren, Stephanie Jones and her husband Chuck, of Houston, TX., Jake, Madeleine and Maxwell Smotherman, all of Dallas, TX; her Sister, Dorothy Lester; and one Brother, Billy Bagley; her dear friend, Julia Rogge, of San Angelo; and numerous other family members and friends.
