Charles Robert Bowles, beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend, was greeted by the Heavenly Host and lifted on Angel's Wings to his Eternal Home in Heaven on November 27, 2016. Bobby was born on July 19, 1956 in San Angelo, Texas, where he resided most of his life. Following a courageous battle with cancer, he passed away in Joliet, Illinois on Hospice care with his wife, Shannon, by his side.
Bobby attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from San Angelo Central High School. He lived in San Antonio for many years while working at San Antonio Housing Authority as Maintenance Supervisor. He returned to San Angelo in recent years to be close to family and lifelong friends. He worked at Morrison Supply Company as Warehouse Manager until his treatments required travel to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston through most of the past year. Bobby loved the Lord and his Catholic Faith was the true rock and guide of his life. Dear to his heart were his family and friends, music, travel, and his cats. He was a kind and gentle man. Thoughtful and fun-loving, Bobby was always easy to talk to and offered the benefit of his council to many lost souls and friends of Bill Wilson. His conversation, love, and mischievous grin will truly be missed. We would like to express tremendous gratitude to his physicians Don Cook, MD at WTMA and Jennifer Wang, MD at MD Anderson.
Left to mourn his loss are his wife of 19 years, Shannon Abel Bowles; step-children, Roanna (Shawn) Murray, Nikki (Dave) Worley, Timothy (Shawna) Worley, and Patrick (Mindy) Gray; Mother-in-Law Sandy (Paul) Love and Father-in-Law Tony (Cece) Abel; brother Guy (Drew) Bowles; sister Becky (Coy) Chandler; nephews Aaron and Nathan Bowles, niece Ashley Chandler Hill, and their families, along with 5 special aunts and numerous cousins. Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Berger Bowles, and his father, Charles E. Bowles.
