Bill Martin, 79, of San Angelo, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016 in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, TX. Jane Traugott of Garland, Texas will be officiating.
Bill was born May 16, 1937 to Mary and Louin Martin in Waxahachie, Texas. He married Janet Webb on July 24th, 1994. He retired from the U.S. Geological Survey in 1995 after over 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James L. Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Martin; son, William (Bill) Allen Jackson and wife Rebecca; granddaughter, Tori, of Big Rapids, Michigan. Daughter, Jennifer Self and husband Kent of Lubbock, TX. Grandchildren, Ashley Teagarden, Emily Teagarden King and husband, Tucker; great grandson, Jett Wayne King, and grandson, Tanner Teagarden.
Bill was a private person and a very gentle man. He was generous with everyone and could be very funny, and was very easy with people. He had a big heart and was kind to all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals for the Elderly, 310 E. Houston Harte San Angelo, TX. 76903, or a charity of your choice.
Bill's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff on 6 West Shannon Hospital and several very special physicians with Shannon Hospital. All of the staff and facilities treated Bill in an excellent, loving and caring manner. They all were very much appreciated during Bill's illness.
